Removing invasive honeysuckle at a city park in Columbia Missouri

Invasive Plant Removal at Again Street Park August 8 and October 17

Central MO RPCVs received one of Columbia's 2026 Love Your Block Grants, and held a rewildling biltz for Again Street Park's biodiversity on August 8, 2026

We first removed invasive honeysuckle bushes that were choking portions of the park and then replaced them with a variety of native plants.

Why: To improve the quality of the riparian buffer along County House Branch Creek in Again Street Park and to create habitat for native birds, insects, and mammals.

When: Honeysuckle Removal: Saturday, August 8 from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. Native planting: October 17, 2026

Where: Again Street Park, 1200 Again Street.

This project is a partnership among The Central Missouri Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, Friends of Again Street Park, and Missouri Conservation Corps.
